Dust, pollution, cosmetics and perfumes all conspire to cloud the brilliance of a gemstone and dull the surface of gold, gold vermeil and sterling silver. We suggest you take the time to properly store and care for Rubina’s Adornments. Anna recommends applying perfumes and other sprayed substances before putting on your jewelry. Jewelry should always be removed prior to showering and never worn in a hot tub or pool or cleaned with harsh chemicals or cleaners. Softly wipe jewelry with a gold polishing cloth to remove oils and lotions before storing in a protective plastic or cloth bag.
As with all fine jewelry, we recommend that you store each of Rubina’s Adornments in a pouch and travel box when traveling. You can also store your jewelry in any air-tight container or bag (zip locks are wonderful). Proper storage helps prevent scratching of stones and precious metals and entanglement and damage to fine beading and dangles. It is best to keep jewelry away from extreme heat or moisture. Be careful not to place heavy objects on top of your jewelry during storage and travel and be gentle when putting on or removing jewelry. To ensure your jewelry is not crushed during storage always store in a protected box.
It is natural for gold vermeil jewelry to age beautifully with time – it adds character to the item and makes it as individual as you are. With proper care and storage as required by all fine jewelry, Rubina’s Adornments will last a lifetime and become a treasured part of your own history…
Vermeil pieces: Vermeil is a wonderful alternative to solid gold. However, one must keep in mind that it is a layer of gold over silver and with too much cleaning it can compromise the finish. Never use ammonia in the water or glass cleaner containing ammonia. The best method to keep your piece beautiful and clean is to store it in the provided wrapping (plastic covering and light preventing pouch). If you find it necessary to clean your piece we do not recommend harsh chemical cleaners. The preferred method is to use a gold jewelry buffing cloth.
Murano Glass: To clean your Murano Glass jewelry, use a mixture of warm water and gentle diswashing liquid on each bead and rub gently with a soft cloth. Do not let the item soak in the water. Follow by using a damp cloth (water only) and thoroughly wipe the glass components multiple times. Pat dry, and lay the item on a soft towel to completely dry.
Each piece is personally selected from the collections of a small artisan’s workshop located in Tuscany, near Arezzo. The point of design comes after careful observations of many original pieces worn by discerning peoples of centuries ago.
We import our beads crafted by master artisans from the island of Murano, part of Venice, Italy.
Due to the high cost of gold, the vermeil used in Rubina’s Adornments allows you to have the beauty of a fine hand-crafted gold piece for a fraction of the cost. The pieces are made of .925 sterling silver coated with a 34K layer of rose or yellow gold.
We guarantee against manufacture defects. A replacement can be issued if there is a serious flaw or apparent assembly defect. Please see the RETURN POLICY in the Rubina’s Adornments Refunds & Exchanges section. This guarantee does not cover accidental breakage, negligent care, or lost items.
Slight variations in the size, shape, and color may occur between firings of our handcrafted jewelry.
Despite every effort to accurately duplicate each product’s color when photographed for the website, actual colors may vary on different monitors and web devices.
